Industra-Gloss WB
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Non-Yellowing Water Based Concrete / Paver Cure
& Seal
1. DESCRIPTION: Industra-Gloss WB is a water based curing
and sealing compound. It is highly resistant to yellowing from sunlight
exposure, VOC compliant, nonflammable and ready to use. When used
as a curing compound Industra-Gloss WB helps control hydration of
the cement by preventing rapid loss of moisture through the surface
of newly placed concrete. As a sealer on concrete, pavers, exposed
aggregate concrete, and other decorative concretes, Industra-Gloss
WB is designed to protect and give a natural sheen and with two coats
a "wet look".
2. USES: Industra-Gloss WB is used exterior and interior on
most horizontal and vertical concrete and masonry surfaces. Typically,
applications include stamped concrete driveways, patios, garages and
commercial buildings. Its low odor makes it ideal for indoor applications
in offices, hospitals and schools. It offers outstanding resistance
to dirt and attack by air pollutants.
3. SURFACE PREPARATION: Existing Concrete/Exposed Aggregate:
Surface must be dry, structurally sound, clean, free of dust, dirt,
laitance, efflorescence, curing compound, paint, oil, grease and other
contaminants. Prior to application, surface defects, voids, cracks
and joints should be properly treated and repaired. If acid has been
used to clean the surface, neutralize the surface prior to using Industra-Gloss
WB. Always test surface pH to insure all acid has been neutralized
prior to application. Freshly Placed Concrete: Horizontal surface
must be finished and show no surface "sheen" from the moisture.
The surface must be able to withstand walking workmen.
4. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Industra-Gloss WB normally requires
no mixing. If required, use slow speed mixing without aeration.
5. APPLICATION TECHNIQUES: Apply Industra-Gloss WB in a uniform,
continuous film by sprayer, short napped roller, brush, or push broom.
Freshly Placed Concrete: Apply a full, even coat of Industra-Gloss
WB ensuring complete and uniform coverage of the surface. Use an applicator
or roller to pick up puddles or excess material from the surface.
A second coat may be applied depending upon the desired surface gloss.
A delay of 24 hours is recommended before application of the second
coat. If the delay between the first and second coat results in the
contamination of the surface, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned
before the application of the second coat. Existing Concrete: Apply
a full, even coat of Industra-Gloss WB using a sprayer, roller, brush,
or broom. A second coat may be applied as soon as the first coat has
dried (2-4 hours at 75°F). The surface porosity and the amount
of surface sheen desired determines the selection of material for
second coat. The coated concrete can usually be opened to foot traffic
in 8-12 hours, with maximum surface hardness developed within 7-10
days. A light maintenance coat is recommended every 1-3 years depending
on usage.
6. COVERAGE: The following coverage rates are approximate
and for estimating purposes only. Make test applications on actual
surfaces to determine exact coverage rates. Industra-Gloss WB is a
TOPICAL product and like all "topicals" performs best when
two thin coats are applied. For estimating purposes figure 200-250
sq ft. per gallon for the first coat, and 250-350 sq ft. per gallon
for the second.

7. CLEAN-UP: Clean up tools and equipment with water or a
blend of water/butyl cello solve. Dried sealer is very difficult to
remove. Call for compatible strippers
8. CAUTIONS: Before applying the sealer to the entire surface,
test small area to verify sealers appearance and penetration ability.
Do not use on glazed, very dense surfaces or over ceramics. Applications
which result in excess material on the concrete surface may result
in an uneven, "splotchy" appearance after cure. High humidity
conditions and very hot/windy days will adversely affect drying and
performance of the sealer. Do not apply if rain or heavy fog is likely
within 8 - 12 hours after application. The sealer is not intended
to seal floors exposed to underground water. Do not apply Industra-Gloss
WB to frost filled or frozen surfaces. The sealer may darken the surface
and may highlight surface imperfections. Store between 50°F and
90°F. Do not allow to freeze. Use adequate ventilation during
application and cure. Do not apply below 45°F.
9. PACKAGING: Industra-Gloss WB is available in 5 gal and
55 containers. Storage: 50 - 90°F. Protect from freezing. Shelf-Life:
1 year, in protected storage.
10. ENVIRONMENTAL & SAFETY: FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP
AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND ANIMALS. Avoid breathing vapor or mist,
wear eye protection and gloves, use with adequate ventilation. In
case of eye contact, flood eyes with copious amounts of water. See
physician immediately. If ingested, call physician. Protect shrubbery,
plants and grass during application. Read product Material Safety
Data Sheet before using.
